i like when the forecast says "abundant sunshine" i think i'd like to write for weather.com, i could write stuff like "overflowing with sunshine" or "drizzly beyond belief" it would be sweet

happy st. patrick's day!

so most of you know i have my apprehensions about this holiday cause i don't like the whole "pinching thing" and so today i was going to wear green on purpose to not have to worry about it. you know...new job, new folks, it'd just be better. but then this morning i forgot! i realized as i got to work that i had no green whatsoever on me. in fact i was wearing red, and couldn't even try to pass it off for green. i prepared myself for a long day of quietly being pinched, but nobody pinched me all day! i was so pleased. one co-worked chased me around the house trying to pinch me until i realized she wasn't wearing green either. and then other person just pretend pinched me! it was actually quite fun. so phew luckily i got through the day pinch free.

so today i had cpr training at work. the whole time i had this clip running through my head (see 1 min 40) i'm pretty sure this video is filmed off of the tv....but still good.



and thankfully i passed!

hair

so i've decided to cut my hair short again in the next month or so, and i've been trying to find pictures of short hair to find something i like. ya know how they have those hair magazines in hair cutting places- does anyone know where one get can those? like do they sell them at the grocery store? i tried looking some pictures up online, but the only websites i could find i believe were from the 1980s or super super short styles. and although they were entertaining, not as helpful. anyways, just thought i'd see if anyone knew where to find those magazines!

learning a new lanuage

so today i had the first of a four part series on being a "medication aid" meaning i can administer medications. i think liz will appreciate this, but i never realized that doctor's have a whole other language! for example- "po q hs prn sleep" means... "by mouth at bed time as needed for sleep" anyways, i was baffled! but as i'm learning what the symbols mean i'm realizing how much faster it must be than writing it all out. it sure is confusing to learn though!

thievin times

so yesterday i realized i'm a criminal.

a few weeks ago my dad showed me that our local grocery store has free coffee for you when you shop. i was a little hesitant to believe it at first. but there were no signs or prices or anything (just the coffee stuff sitting by the deli). and also he said he always walked through checkout holding it and no one ever said anything. so i started doing the same, realized how awesome it was, and even began telling people about it! well yesterday while in the checkout line the guy rang dad up for a 70 cent cup of coffee (still cheap). dad asked how long they'd been charging and he said as long as he had worked there. hmmm...guess we've unknowingly been lifting coffee from the local food mart. oops. im guessing most of the cashiers don't even know to charge for it. at least that's what i like to tell myself.
