i recently subscribed to this charlottesville blog and this story and video popped up today. basically a police car hit a man in a wheelchair crossing the street and then they followed him to the hospital and ticketed him for jaywalking! they eventually dropped the charges but now are being sued. oops for the police.

awesome shirt

my brother wore this shirt for much of his engagement weekend. i aspire to be half as cool as he is. i also really want this shirt. (if you don't know those are the golden girls)

this morning i woke up to a text message that was a picture of a gorgeous ring and text that said....

"it's official.... we're engaged!"

my brother jon is engaged!! i am sooo excited!

wedding crasher

last night i crashed my first wedding, and it was excellent. a wedding reception was going on at oakleigh (the property my parents own) and my mom encouraged me to come out after work and see it. so i threw on a dress and headed out. there ended up being people we knew out there and it was a great time hanging out. we got free wine, got invited to partake of the gourmet food, toasted the bride and groom, and did some dancing! an added benefit of my folks owning the place was the caterers gave most of the leftovers to us! although i must say the bridesmaids dresses- wow. terrifying. bright (and i'm talking neon) pink. very unflattering cut. and a terrible ruffle at the bottom- but not at the very bottom of the dress, about 2 inches up so it looked like it was pasted on. i've heard horror stories of bridesmaid dresses before, but never seen it in person....until now. i wish i had a picture but sadly left my camera in the car. if only i had known what was awaiting me!
